A framework for privacy-aware and secure decentralized data storage

Blockchain technology gained popularity thanks to its decentralized and transparent features. However, it suffers from a lack of privacy as stores data publicly has difficulty handle updates due main feature known immutability. In this paper, we propose storage access framework that combines blockchain with Distributed Hash Table (DHT), role-based control model, multiple encryption mechanisms. Our metadata DHT keys on the blockchain, while encrypted is managed DHT, which enables owners their data. It allows authorized actors store read in system. We design REST APIs ensure interoperability over Web. Concerning updates, pointer system update history, solves issue preserving benefits using blockchain. illustrate our solution wood supply chain use case traceability algorithm trace verify product origin. users protects against linking, eavesdropping, spoofing, modification attacks. Moreover, provide proof-of-concept implementation, security analysis, evaluation for time consumption scalability. The experimental results demonstrate feasibility, security, privacy, scalability proposed solution.
